EGPAF-Malawi – Support for PEPFAR Program in Malawi
EGPAF-Malawi’s effort to create digital health systems to aid PEPFAR partners and the MoH to end the HIV epidemic in Malawi has been supported [in part] by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) under the terms of cooperative agreement GH002301.
EGPAF is developing applications for PEPFAR partners to ensure recipients of HIV care are retained in life long treatment, and those at risk of HIV infection can access testing in time.
To support this effort, Dimagi will take an active role in the design, development, and testing of a pilot mobile solution that will improve contract tracing to promote testing of children and partners who might be at risk, and support community-based follow up for those who fall out of care.
The program will begin as a pilot at five sites across Malawi in partnership with five different implementing partners, before potentially scaling up to their 2,700 person workforce that supports testing and tracing activities.
