Nele is a Senior Field Manager at Dimagi. She has led and supported projects in Ghana, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. She is most passionate about service delivery projects focusing on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) and neglected diseases. She feels very fortunate to be part of a collaborative, multi-cultural team that works at the intersection of technology and development.
Before Dimagi, Nele worked for several years at a for-profit social enterprise which develops last-mile distribution systems for bringing efficient cookstoves and solar lighting solutions to underserved communities in East Africa. She led market research efforts, coordinated monitoring activities, trained field staff on product knowledge, sales strategies, as well as introducing mobile data collection systems and sales transaction apps.
Nele graduated from Northeastern University with a BA in International Affairs and minors in Sociology and Anthropology. Born to Belgian parents, she grew up in the Netherlands, Austria, and the US, after which she lived 5 years in Kenya. When not working, Nele can be found spending time with friends, cooking, learning to surf, and going on outdoor adventures.
