Charl Smit

During my studies at the University of Stellenbosch in Electrical & Electronic engineering, the last thing I wanted to do was to become a software engineer. However, after graduation I landed my first job as a software engineer and grew quite fond of it after seeing its potential. Shortly thereafter I joined Dimagi so that I could use my new found abilities to improve the lives of others. I figured that I wanted to do something that matters in the long run. When I am not working I like being outside enjoying nature. I love exploring interesting ideas by reading or simply watching something like TedX. I also take an interest in history and some deeper philosophical matters, especially reflecting on human nature.
